According to the rules of unlock-5 of the Government of India, even if the theaters have been allowed to open in the country. But, the audience awaiting actor Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Suryavanshi’ will still be disappointed. Shibashish Sarkar, CEO of Reliance Entertainment, the producer of this film, has said directly that he will not release his film this Diwali.
The central government has given permission to open theaters across the country but states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have kept theaters closed for the time being. Locks will be hanging in more cinemas in these states this month. It is possible that their governments will execute the Centre’s approval from next month. Reliance company fears that when theaters are closed in the three major states of the country, there is no significant loss from the release of the film on Diwali.
Shibashish said in his statement, ‘Release of Suryavanshi ‘on this Diwali does not seem to be a valid idea. We do not even know whether theaters will open in the main states of the country. The governments of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have declared theaters closed for the time being. It is possible that most states will start opening theaters around December 1. Another major film of the company ‘83‘ is in line for release in theaters. About this film, Shibashish says that the date of release of Christmas of this film may not have to be changed.
Some producers may be contracting to release their films, but there is a wave of joy among cinemas owners. He welcomes the government’s decision and also thanks him. Carnival Cinemas has already started preparations in this regard. Software for ticket booking has been updated. The government has allowed only 50 per cent people in the cinema hall simultaneously.
Akash Singh, the director of Agra-based Shri Talkies, says that his single-screen theater is also set to open from October 15. Initially, they will have problems with new material. Till then he will remain dependent on some old films and films like Shakuntala Devi, Dil Bechara which have been released on OTT. He says that due to the problem of the Internet, many people may not see these films on OTT. And many people prefer to watch most of the movies only in theaters. Therefore, his initial focus will be on films released on OTT. However, he is also afraid that the state government may not stop the opening of theaters at present.
