The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced films for nine categories for the upcoming Oscars. The award categories include Documentary Feature (15), Documentary Short Subject (10), International Feature (15), Makeup & Hairstyling (10), Original Scale (15), Original Song (15), Live Short Film (10), Animated Short. Films of the film (10), live action short films (10) and visual effects (10) have been selected.
The selected categories were completed on 5 February. The remaining categories will be voted from March 5 to March 9. The Oscar nomination winners will be announced on March 15. After this the April 25 date has been set for the show.
Here we are giving the list of some shortlisted films under categories. There are 15 films under the documentary feature. These include 76 Days (All Days: The Fight for Democracy), Boys State, Boys Collective, Collective, Crip Camp, Dick Johnson Is Dead (Dick Johnson Is Dead, Gunda, MLK / FBI, The Mole Agent, My Octopus Teacher, Notturno, The Painter and the Painter and the Thief), Time, The Truffle Hunters, Welcome to Chechnya.
At the same time, 15 names have been selected in international feature films. These include Denmark’s Another Round, Hong Kong’s Better Days, Czech Republic’s Charlatan, Romania’s Collective, Russia’s Dear Comrades! (Dear Comrades!), I’m No Longer Here from Mexico, Hope of Norway, La Llorona of Guatemala, The Mole Agent of Chile, Ivory Night of the Kings, Quo Vadis of Bosnia Herzegovina, Quo Vadis, Aida, Iran’s Sun Children, France’s Two of Us, Taiwan’s Movies such as A Sun, The Man Who Sold His Skin of Tunisia are included.
Apart from this, 10 names are included in the live action short film, which also features ‘Bittu’ directed by Karisma Dev of India. These include Bittu, Da Yie, Feeling Through, The Human Voice, The Kicksled Choir, The Letter Room, The Present ( There are films like The Present), Two Distant Strangers, The Van and White Eye.
