The story of Akshardham attack, a real picture of terror will be seen after 18 years.
After directing the second season of actor Kunal Khemu’s popular web series ‘Abhay’, Ken Ghosh has been entrusted with another major responsibility. The web series ‘State of Siege – 26/11’, released this year, has decided to make it a franchise and Ken Ghosh has got a chance to direct its sequel.
The first season of ‘State of Siege’ is based on the action of the National Security Guard i.e. NSG commandos in the 26 November 2008 terror attack in Mumbai. Whereas, the makers have told the story of its next installment based on the terrorist attack on Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 24 September 2002.
In the ‘State of Siege’ franchise, it will be an original film named ‘State of Siege – Akshardham’. In the terrorist attack in 2002, about 30 people present in the Akshardham temple lost their lives and more than 80 were seriously injured. Here too, the NSG commandos took command and finally killed the terrorists. Abhimanyu Singh, who created this original film for the first series of this franchise, will produce it under the banner of his production house Contilo Pictures.
On getting the responsibility of directing ‘State of Seas – Akshardham’, Ken Ghosh says, ‘State of Siege is a great franchise whose responsibility to direct the film is a big thing for me. Everyone knows about the Akshardham attack, but very few people will know about it, what challenges they had to face when the NSG soldiers won the attack. This original film will reveal all those stories behind it.
The producers have selected Lt. Retired Colonel Sandeep Sen for authentic research on the events of the film. He has been the commando of the NSG during the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. Kane is currently looking for some capable actors for the film, which will be announced soon. Ken has also directed a few films like Ishq Vishk, ‘Fidaa’, ‘Chance Pay Dance’ before venturing into the digital world. Six episodes of Ekta Kapoor’s recently most talked about web series ‘Triple X – Uncensored’ are also made under the direction of Kane.
